Deanna is a veteran homeschooler who has been enjoying this adventure with her three children for twelve years. Deanna has been married to Gerald for 27 wonderful years. Along with home schooling, Deanna also teaches Art 8-12 for RCOA and has been on staff with Regent in various capacities for the last 11 years. She also enjoys running Artist Tree Studios, a small art school currently offering classes for Grade 4-7 students. Deanna is a warm and engaging speaker who speaks with humour and honesty. She loves family time, art of almost any kind, and going on dates. Three random facts about Deanna include that her favourite college job was being a 7 ft tall Easter bunny, that she lives on a hobby farm with her family and 14 four-legged friends, and that she loves organizing stuff, especially if she is stressed out and should be doing something much more important.

Finding Balance and not forgetting about You while you homeschool:
When you choose to homeschool, life becomes simpler and more complex all at once. Somewhere in the daily rhythm of taking care of your home, your family, and homeschooling, it can be easy to forget about taking care of you. Come be encouraged about equipped to take good care of you and intentionally replenish yourself as you expend energy in many different directions. This talk includes some basic strategies for recognizing the season of life you are in, how to make choices about how you spend that season, using your time and energy well, and learning to say no so you can say yes to the things that really matter. A handout called 40 ways to replenish yourself will be included via e-mail to all those who attend.
Time Management and Organization for the Home Schooling Mom:
How do you get it all done? When you homeschool your children, you are all at home, and before long your house can look quite “lived in”. With so much to accomplish each day, how do you decide what to focus your limited time and energy on? Deanna will share practical strategies and tips for organizing yourself, your time, and your home as you home school. She’ll also talk about strategies for making transitions in the day smoother, and helping kids organize themselves. An outline as well as a detailed hand out will be provided via e-mail to all those who attend.
