Bruce was born in Alberta, on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. His childhood years were divided between exploring his grandparent’s farm and enjoying the freedom of living in a small town. As the son of two teachers, learning was something that happened everywhere and all of the time, not just in a classroom. After graduating from the Peace River Bible Institute, Bruce completed his Education degree at the U of A, and his Masters degree through Gonzaga University.
Bruce has been involved with Christian education since 1990. He has been the Director of K-9 with Heritage Christian Online School since 2014. He is thankful for the opportunities that he’s had to learn from such a talented community of homeschooling families who are so passionately committed to their children.
God has blessed Bruce with an amazing wife, an outstanding family, and wonderful friends. He loves the adventure of a life with Jesus.
Bruce will be bringing us two workshops:
WRITING MADE EASY In this workshop you will learn some simple tools to teach your students which will immediately improve their writing. We will also focus on making writing fun and engaging for reluctant writers.
PBL Project-based Learning With the advent of BC’s modernized curriculum there has been a lot of talk about competencies and project-based learning. In this workshop, we will explore the value of project-based learning, what it is, how to do it, and why it’s an important life skill.
